Publisher's Synopsis

Richard Forsythe's comfortable life is destroyed when his wife and son are killed in an apparent IRA attack upon the Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth, the party of government. Although the correct code words have been used, Detective Inspector John Rees is not convinced. Why would Sinn Fein/IRA destroy the Good Friday Agreement; they have too much to lose? Sinn Fein, unable to convince the police or the government of their innocence, relying upon a past friendship between Richard Forsythe and Tony O'Connor, instruct him to recruit Richard Forsythe as a 'clean' outsider to help them find out who was actually responsible and who the mole within their organisation is. Detective Inspector John Rees has a similar idea and Richard agrees to be the mouse in a game of cat-and-mouse for both the police and the IRA - but things go badly wrong.
