Publisher's Synopsis
In this book, the authors have collected all of the Jewish Palestinian Aramaic poems known from Geniza fragments and from the early mediaeval codexes. Though the individual poems cannot be assigned certain dates, at least some of them seem to have been composed as early as the fourth century C.E. The poems, most of which have never before been published, are accompanied by a full translation into Hebrew. They present us with a wealth of new material of significant value both for the study of their dialect and for our knowledge of Jewish non-liturgical poetry in Late Antiquity.
