Publisher's Synopsis

Beautiful paintings and drawings, by one of the leading figures within the historic avant-garde, are coming to Rotterdam. Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) inspired whole generations of artists, and in the autumn of this year, his portraits of people and animals will be exhibited in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. The exhibition will give a picture of the great cultural periods of Europe at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth.
