In 1960 Fernando Sánchez Dragó was then a young, poor, happy man and a disciple of Hemingway, who had just separated and arrived in Torremolinos so determined to devour the world. There he meets a nineteen-year-old woman with whom he falls madly in love. He courts her, he lets himself be wooed.
