As the controversy about the vadi and samvadi notes encompasses serious debates of Indian classical music, according to most musicologists the vadi samvadi notes in a raga repeat or in other words should occur most frequently. The practitioners don't follow this in their performances and it opens a yawning gap in the theory and practice of Indian classical music. For a more scientific and rational interpretation of the relationship between the vadi and samvadi note, an analysis was carried out of the ragas and their alaaps. The data from the books of musicologists were collected and the notations of live performances of different well-known artists were conducted and contrasted.
