Publisher's Synopsis
Hannah More who with her sisters conducted a boarding school in Bristol, was introduced to London society by Sir Joshua Reynolds. She won the friendship of David Garrick, Samuel Johnson, Horace Walpole and prominent English women of the Bas Bleu group. Sacred Dramas, written in verse, was completed after Garrick's death. The poem, Sensibility, is largely a eulogy on him. Mrs. More became a prolific writer of tracts and a vigorous supporter of the Evangelical Movement of the Church of England.
