An old woman dies, a pair of young cousins marry, and a family shatters against the stunning revelation of extreme transgressions against one of society's last remaining taboos. Even in Vancouver, Luke and Jordan conceal their relationship from those around them, until they don't. In an unexpected twist, both Luke and Jordan realize the most difficult part of their relationship won't be revealing themselves to the family but in navigating a course through the most uncertain times in their lives.
A dozen people, some young and some old, and their interconnected lives are all caught in the midst of a rapidly changing world. They face racism, addiction, and even unemployment in reconciling the irreconcilable, each of them at the mercy of powerful and vastly impersonal forces even as they each make their own way through their lives. But above all else, Luke and Jordan will find the greatest challenges lie in acting out on their pent-up need to be something they're not.
