Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street isn't the only thing New Orleans is known for. It's a city of murder and mayhem, and only the strongest of people can survive such a place. At a young age, Avery runs the streets of New Orleans and nothing moves without his say so, but with that type of power, people will always test the crown. Dakota has been by Avery's side since their teenage years, and to say she loves him would be an understatement. But Dakota, now has two little ones to consider, and Avery's lifestyle becomes problematic in their love life and their family life. While faced with the decision to choose between his wife or his street life, Avery finds that some people in his circle are not as solid as he thought they were and believes they are plotting against him. Rather than go out like a joke, Avery decides that he will fight to defend his throne. But he learns quickly that with royalty comes disloyalty, and that it isn't easy being the King of a city like New Orleans.
