Former naval officer Chase Christian comes to Louisiana in the aftermath of a failed marriage and turbulent Wall Street career. There he finds work with Jonas and Jen Makobia, a brother-and-sister team who operate one of Louisiana's many shrimp boats.

Chase's life is also on the line, as is a secret that goes all the way to the commander in chief of the US military.
