All the book needs is a new zombie master willing to walk the dark road, and in the Vieux Carre of 1930's New Orleans, wickedness is available for a price. To cross the League means banishment for Peter and the end of his life in New Orleans as a budding shaman. On top of that, an old flame of Amelie's reenters her life.
