Publisher's Synopsis
The book describes how events transpired to birth the living history event even though the Ruleys had no idea what they were doing. As time has progressed the book describes how they have learned and how the historic reenactment has developed into what it is today. Mistakes and comical errors that were made while learning how to host an event will entertain the reader as they experience camp life at the Red River Meetinghouse Primitive Rendezvous and Campmeeting. Hopefully the reader will feel a welcoming invitation to attend future events.Many campers began as modern campers with vinyl tents or recreational vehicles and now participate in many juried living history events and historic reenactment in their canvas tents because of their interest and excitement with history after camping with and participating in the events at Red River Meetinghouse. Their stories and experiences will leave the reader wanting to meet them and learn from their expertise.
