The Brooklyn Broadway/Jamaica Avenue elevated railroad has been in continuous operation since 1888 and is one of Greater New York's unsung landmarks. Passing through such diverse communities as Williamsburg, Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and Jamaica, it is a study in contrast architecturally; reflecting the thirty three year period (1885-1918) in which it was built.
