Publisher's Synopsis
Friends since childhood, Alethea and Erasmus find themselves embarking upon an adventure. But this is no tame childhood stroll in the rain forests of their youth: Alethea, whose appearance is similar to the Dark Ones, is on her way to the Holy City to become an initiate mediki, and Erasmus has been called upon by the Lord of Light to become a squire and protect her during their travels.
Alethea needs to prove that she is not a Dark One, and that she is worthy of the Lord of Light. But first, she and Erasmus must survive a perilous sea crossing. Will Erasmus have the strength necessary to deliver both of them to the Holy City in time to complete their initiate vows or will Alethea's faith falter before they even get there?
