Publisher's Synopsis
After Covid-19 and the darker Destination, the World: Volume Two, NCPA chose a lighter theme for this anthology. The cover indicates winter holidays, but rather than limit our writers, NCPA offers this warning: "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover". ALL Holidays means exactly that. Our First Annual ALL Holiday 2020 anthology includes both traditional and non-traditional holidays from New Year's Day to New Year's Eve, with celebrations from many lands, religions, and cultures. In addition to holiday stories, this anthology celebrates poetry in all forms: from rhyming and free form, to traditional and non-traditional Haiku, plus Haikai, Haibun, Renga and Cherita. The All-Holidays Anthology celebrates love in the air on Valentine's Day; Mrs. Claus shares her undying love for Mr. Claus; and our favorite shapeshifter foxes, Dex & Felicity appear with a new romantic adventure. Also, inside is the return of our favorite cat, Nacht, who tells a new batch of ferals a story. There's Palm Sunday; Good Friday; the 4th of July; Advent; Halloween, and Thanksgiving; also, Hanukkah; Kwanzaa; Christmas in the Philippines; preparing for Christmas in Nigeria; and Carnival in the Caribbean with moko jumbies. Our authors share how they found the Christmas lights different in Copenhagen; how kids feel about wrong wrapping paper; and a Sears Catalogue. We have stories about handmade ceramic ornaments, and a golden peanut; old-time memory & 8mm film; the kindness of strangers; plus taking down and putting away Christmas stuff; hopping in Dad's footsteps in the snow; mischief during camp holidays; Christmas with little sister and making a pie for Santa; Christmas with cats; making snow families; and the wild and goofy National holidays covered each month. We even have a story about throwing acorns on Arbor Day; Christmas in July; and the Perseid Meteor Showers in August.NCPA's First Holiday Anthology is packed as full as a Christmas stocking with fun stories and entertaining traditions.
