Publisher's Synopsis
This is a true story about a poor twelve-year-old boy named Ron, who gets an offer for a job on a farm for the whole summer. He needs money for school clothes and supplies, so he talks his parents into letting him do this. The story follows Ron doing many jobs from early morning to late dark nights, milking thirty-three cows, and shoveling manure. The farmer appears many times to tell him, after the fact, "Oh, I forgot to tell you." Ron keeps his commitment to the farmer all summer long even when he feels like quitting.
