Father Milford laughed. "Why do I get the feeling that you suspect me of killing Miss Dugan?"

"The manner of death."
"Are you sure her killer is a male?"
"Odds are it's the father of her baby."
"Well, detectives, I've taken a vow of celibacy."

"Well, sir, I assure you that I have not."
"And I have to take your word on that?"
