Publisher's Synopsis
There are a growing number of authors that see the advantage of publishing their own books, but most of the available guides on the subject are produced by self-publishing companies, keen to promote their own services, or the dreaded vanity press. This guide is produced totally independently of any of these companies and it tries to be as comprehensive as possible, outlining the various options and choices a publisher must make during the process, from conception to finished publication. It is not a guide to self-publishing, but a guide on how an author can publish their own book properly, the way it has to be done to achieve market success. That is not a guarantee, because even major publishers have their share of lemons, but not doing it properly is a virtual guarantee of failure, as too many self-publishers have discovered, to their cost. Understand the process and publish your book the right way and you stand a good chance of success.
