This book provides role models of heroism via profiles of twenty heroes and heroines. Also included are ten legends that provide outstanding examples of heroism. The biographical sketches represent four categories: heroes in history, heroines in history, junior military heroes, and senior military heroes. Although the subject of this book is heroism, these individuals displayed other strong personal characteristics, including perseverance, motivation, determination, resilience, creativity, and courage as discussed in other books in the Human Values Series. We can learn from these individuals to become more successful in our own lives.
