Publisher's Synopsis

[Written in HEBREW] The book - ISLAM & STATE IN EAST AFRICA and the appearance of Radical Muslim Organizations: Tanzania as a test case - presents the radicalization of the relations between Israel and the state in East Africa- in the countries of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. The book discusses the history of the countries in East Africa, up to the independence of these three countries, focusing on Tanzania with the largest area and population. The chapters of the book analyze the processes that led to the radicalization between Islam and the state in Tanzania and primarily, the process of democratization and the institution of a multi-party system that enabled Muslims to express their complaints and to express their anger over the blatant discrimination leveled at them compared to the Christians. Acts of violence, on the part of some Muslims, damaged the public order and stability in this country and led to the government of Tanzania to mobilize military forces to subdue them.
