It has two levels of text, the first is for children just begining to read, while the second is for more advanced readers, or teachers to read aloud.;The book describes the activites that take place on the farm throughout the year. It begins with winter pruning and tree planting. The book explains how the trees are pollinated in spring when the blossom grows, and the job of the bee-keeper. When the apples grow in the summer, thinning, tree training and spraying take place. Finnally it describes how the friut is harvested in the autumn and how the apples are prepared for storage and sale.;The author, Sara Doughty, has a BA(Hons) in Educational studies specialising in geography. She has trained as a teacher and currently works as a full time editor of children's books.
