Marcy Taggert lost her 21-year-old daughter, Devon, in a canoeing accident last year. But because Devon's body was never recovered from the waters, Marcy has found it difficult to come to terms with her death and keeps seeing her daughter in the faces of strangers.
Now, on a holiday to Ireland - which should have been a celebration of her 25th wedding anniversary until her husband left her for another woman - Marcy is convinced she has just seen Devon walk past the table where she is sitting outside a café in Cork.
