Publisher's Synopsis
The murder at Darnworth Manor was particularly baffling. Autocratic financier Warner Darnworth had been working alone in his study. The study door was locked on the inside, and the only window was of the non-opening variety. Yet Darnworth had been found slumped over his desk, shot through the head. No weapon was found, either in the room or anywhere else in the manor. To add to the problems of Chief Inspector Gossage and Sergeant Blair, every member of Darnworth's family had good reason to hate him.
