Publisher's Synopsis
The first title in this new series looks at Scotland's railways between 1980 and 1993. These perhaps didn't feel like they would ever be described as the "Classic Diesel Years", but these were the times when the successors to the steam trains were operating under BR and before Privatisation. In 64 of Tom's photographs from this era, the book shows many of them at work on the 188 rail miles of the scenic Highland Main Line between the 'Fair City' and the 'Highland Capital'. Locations featured include Pitlochry, Dalwhinnie, Blair Atholl, Aviemore, Newtonmore, Carrbridge, Slochd and many more.
