The status and stature of company secretaries has grown significantly over the years,
with many quantitative and qualitative changes in the jobprofile. This study aims to
develop an understanding of the evolution of the profession of the company secretaries
and examine the different roles played by them while in practice and in employment.
The results of the study provide evidence towards the diversified roles played by the
company secretaries, which are no longer confined to the routine administrative matters
and statutory compliances.
