Publisher's Synopsis
An American documentary film crew's helicopter is hot down in Afghanistan by the Taliban, who hold them hostage. The Taliban demand a ransom from their employers. The U.S. Army, CIA, state department, and the families of the hostages all become involved in either locating the hostages or negotiating their release. One night the hostages attempt an escape, but only the pilot, Val Griesmer, is able to get away. He wanders around the Afghanistan countryside not knowing where he is, trying not to be seen by the wrong people and wanting to find someone he can trust. Can the Army find the hostages? Does the ransom get paid? Does Val make it to safety?
