Hannah Caldwell was rescued by an Indian named Lone Wolf from a white man that was trying to assault her .He took her as his white slave. Lone Wolf was an Arapaho that sometimes scouted for the Army. He lived with a nomad tribe who refused to live on the reservations.At first Hannah had been scared of Lone Wolf, but the more she was around him, the more she realized what a hero he really was. He did things for the white soldiers that his people did not approve of, like saving troops from being massacred. And he led his people away from starvation. Even though Hannah was his slave, he listened to her many times. And because he listened, their relationship grew into something much more!
