Publisher's Synopsis

Tony Smith is a dyed-in-the-wool Kidderminster lad whose family have resided in the town for over two centuries. His work has taken many forms, from employment in a travel agency, in a colliery, in the electrical contracting industry, to being a proprietor of building company for over 30 years. More recently Tony has worked as a self-employed taxi driver, poet and author.

In this, his second book of pen portraits, he writes about the experiences, observations and adventures he and his colleagues have enjoyed in the taxi trade, over the past decade.

His love of poetry and literature have enabled him express the humour, pathos and, sometimes, horror that comes in the daily life of the taxi driver. The nature of his work is an echo of his first book Pub Lives in Poetry, in which he described the life and times of the people in his local pub in jaunty doggerel. This work is a wider canvas for his pen to wander across, gleaning stories from his own and other driver's memories which has resulted in this mixed bag of love and laughter.

He continues to write, observe and laugh about life as he sees it.
