Pretty submissive masochist Jessica Dean is happily entertaining masterful Mr Green, when reality seems to break down. Suddenly she is naked and strapped to an examination chair under the domination of eccentric scientist Felix Howard, who claims he has a machine that can extract memories of intimate sexual encounters and sell them on to collectors. But when he probes Jessica's mind further, he finds memories of inexplicable, bizarre and sadistic sexual events that cannot possibly be drawn from her personal experience, and which both frighten and intrigue her.
In some of these recollections she has a devil's tail, and submits to a pair of men who compel her to make love to another captive naked woman; a wild young man who she owes protection money; a sexually powerful mistress; and a masterful stranger in a car park. In others she seems to be a frustrated housewife manhandled by workmen, a teacher menaced by a lovesick ex-student, a delinquent in a cruel reform school, the naked captive of three horny young men in a barn and the accused in an impossible public trial.
Where have all these bizarre characters and events come from? As Howard digs deeper, using cruel physical stimuli to compel her to concentrate, Jessica feels her sense of what is real or not being strained to the limits. Can she ever discover the truth about her life - and will she ever get rid of her wicked but sensuous, devil's tail?
