From the dark ages of myth and magic to a futuristic post-apocalyptic world, the fulfillment of two ancient and opposing prophecies converge. Since the end of the Final War, an ancient and malevolent being, Devan Elaniel, has ruled as the Archon of New City. To escape his inevitable doom, he seeks a descendent of Erafel as the means to create the key to his immortality.
Meanwhile, a corrupt scientist and his fraudulent genetics project unleash a tragic series of events. The conspiracy to cover up the destruction of this
project and the murder of its progeny may also enable Erafel's descendants to accomplish what providence intended.
Tabitha Norean, a princess of New City unleashes an insidious web that will further subjugate humanity. It will ultimately allow Devan Elaniel to achieve his most sinister objectives. This "spider" becomes entangled in her own unavoidable destiny and the conflict she initiates among New City's powerful rulers.
Erafel's descendent Ariel Waters dreams of winning the heart of a man. The resulting cascade of coincidences unveils the meaning of her visions. Her
dreams of her own shattered reflection foretell of a coming storm which will bring death and destruction, but also hope to those enslaved or imprisoned.
Outside of New City, among the ruins left by the Final War, a shadowy organization exists. There a man learns the secret of Ariel Waters and her enigmatic grandfather. A key to a mystery is revealed about a long-lost child named Venley, an unlikely girl to become a hero in the chronicles of New City.
