Jet exhaust turbulence noise is computed using a time dependent solution of the three dimensional Navier-Stokes equations to supply the source terms for an acoustic computation based on the Phillips convected wave equation. An extrapolation procedure is then used to determine the far field noise spectrum in terms of the near field sound.
