Publisher's Synopsis
The Silver City Quarterly Review is a literary review magazine published online four times a year - January, April, July and October - that spotlights local authors in Silver City and southwestern New Mexico. The magazine is intended as a vehicle to showcase the published works of authors through reviews and excerpts, allow authors to publish works of poetry, short fiction or essays, to introduce the reading public to the works of these authors, and to raise awareness of the number and breadth of talented writers living in the southwest New Mexico area. This anthology compiles our favorite pieces from our first three years (Fall 2015 to Summer 2018) comprising 22 different authors. During this time we have published twelve issues containing over 90 pieces of writing by more than 40 different authors. Silver City, population approximately 10,000, sits on the southern border of the Gila Wilderness in southwest New Mexico. A rural community sporting a state university, we are remote enough to satisfy those who desire to be a few steps removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city. While diverse, we are a study in contrasts supporting such groups as ranchers and retired hippies, copper miners and environmentalists. We hope you enjoy the various writing styles, topics and very creative entries which represent the best of the previous three years of the Quarterly Review.
