When a fourteen-year-old boy enters the gladiatorial arena to attack and subdue two lethal killers, the half-human cyborg running the gambling hall pays attention. Before now, Bass has found his comfort in a bottle, but the boy presents intriguing possibilities. In a universe of brutal reality, a group of genetically enhanced children struggles to survive. Split from each other and their creators by harsh circumstance, never experiencing the earth that supplied their genetics, they must find each other or the human race dies. A former gladiator salvages three humans, meant to be slaughtered in the arena for entertainment, from certain death... and the human race gets a second chance.
