After the 2020-2021 school year, students will no longer take a STAAR Writing test in grades 4 and 7. Instead, all the STAAR Reading tests will assess writing skills by including revising and editing question sets. By 2022-2023, all STAAR tests will be taken online and the tests will include a wide range of question types.
