Publisher's Synopsis
Young children process through grief very differently than adults, and sometimes there are physical sensations that are uncomfortable and can cause anxiety. This book is meant to be an introduction to identifying those physical feelings, starting with "butterflies" in the tummy, being unable to sleep, and having a tight chest. It is also intended to help young children learn how to deal with those feelings. This picture book contains three parts: 1) fond memories from before the loss of a loved one, 2) sadness and confusion after the loss of a loved one, and 3) an introduction to basic coping skills - visualization to lessen anxiety about psychosomatic symptoms and to help to cope with grief, identifying emotions and where in the body they are felt, and recognizing ways to cope with those emotions.
