Publisher's Synopsis

Jefferson Airplane was a rock group formed during 1965 in San Francisco, California, U.S. that became one of the pioneering bands of psychedelic rock, defining the San Francisco Sound, being the first from the Bay Area to become successful internationally. Jefferson Airplane were headliners at Monterey (1967), Woodstock (1969), Altamont (1969), and the first Isle of Wight Festival (1968) in England. Their break-out album Surrealistic Pillow (1967), was one of the most significant recordings of the Summer of Love. Two songs from that L.P., Somebody to Love and White Rabbit, were among Rolling Stone magazine's '500 Greatest Songs of All Time'.
