Publisher's Synopsis
Sparks are a pop and rock group formed during 1967 in Pacific Palisades, western Los Angeles County, California, US by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals). Famed for their quirky approach to songwriting, Sparks' music has often been accompanied by intelligent, sophisticated, and acerbic lyrics, along with an idiosyncratic, theatrical stage presence, Russell's animated, hyperactive frontman antics contrasting with Ron's deadpan scowling. They're also well-known for Russell's distinctive wide-ranging voice and Ron's intricate, rhythmic keyboard playing style.
