Publisher's Synopsis
I got a job working for Polaroid Corporation. I was hired into the same department and the same day as a black man, also going to college and we became fast friends. Our boss was clearly racist and he had a real problem with my friend and I share a table for lunch in the cafeteria. It became a talking point every time I had an evaluation. At some point, I asked if I was paid for my half-hour lunch break and the answer was, 'No'. I then asked why my lunch break was up for discussion every time I had an evaluation. He finally dropped the subject. This set the stage for the belief system I developed as a young adult. With the advent of YouTube and cameras everywhere, everyone had access to what was going on with cops killing unarmed black people everywhere and it was impossible to ignore.
