Publisher's Synopsis
Stephen grew up queer in a repressive and conformist society, and ended up living in exile in America. Wrestling with Bipolar Disorder and Schizoid Disorder, he started writing poetry to release, to cope, to express what was suppressed to maintain and fit in the facade of "normalcy' in order to survive. This poetry grew over the years to comprise over 10 volumes. Gone Dyke is the eleventh volume that collects 91 geo-located haikus/senryus composed over 17 days while Stephen hiked or traversed Klondike gold rush routes in Alaska and Yukon, re-invoking the censored queer and ethnic voice in narratives of white rugged he(te)ros. An updated American corollary to Basho's The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
