Dr. Guri Durollari and many other members of the Albanian community in America created the Legaliteti Party in support of the exiled King of Albania. He was a key member of the party and was responsible for organizing many conferences and planning for the eventual return of the King back to Albania. In addition, he organized rallies against the communist regime in Albania, in several cities in the United States of America to include Washington D.C. In 1991, after the fall of communism in Albania -- Dr. Guri Durollari was one of the first members of the Legaliteti Party to travel to Albania. He immediately organized and started the branch of the Legaliteti Party in Albania. He was chosen as the party president by King Leka. Dr. Guri Durollari ran a very successful political campaign and was responsible for increasing the party membership by the thousands. He published several hundred newspapers and represented the party in the media. In 1997, Dr. Guri Durollari won the elections in Albania with over 60 percent of the popular vote in favor of the referendum for the restoration of the monarchy. The results of the voting were manipulated and many of the voting boxes where stolen in favor of the Socialist Party. Dr. Durollari challenged the counting in the higher court of Albania and lost by one vote before the voting took place one of the judges of the panel was murdered. Dr. Guri Durollari was voted as Deputy in Albania for a term of four years and continues to serve as a member of the parliament. He continues his support of the King, by lobbying and producing books and newspapers in favor of the referendum in Albania. He was a major supporter of President Clinton during the war in Kosova. He organized events in support of the war effort and met with several members of the United States Senate in Washington, DC. In 2003, he started the Albanian Monarchy Party and serves as a lifetime Chairman. He continues to be politically active by producing newspapers and giving speeches in favor of a true and democratic Albania.
