Publisher's Synopsis
A small calf is born in a barn he shares with a litter of newly born kittens. Twister is a young Brahman calf born out of champion rodeo stock, and he is destined to become a rodeo star. Rocky is a witted kitten that has a bit of a brave affection toward Twister. During the first few years of being on the ranch together, the kitten and the bucking bull cannot be separated. The character Rocky is based on the author's beloved Rocky Kat, who was born in a barn on a farm around other horses and animals.
One night, he saved the author's mom by waking her up after the electricity went out. Mrs. Northover was on oxygen, and Rocky woke her up in time for her to realize that her machine wasn't working, and she switched over to the tanks. Twister is based on several famous bucking bulls from the pro bull-riding events and rodeos. This book is dedicated to the late Larry Condon from Omak, Washington, world-champion Indian bull-rider and a lover of cats. It is also dedicated to the original Rocky, who was named Rocky Kat, owned by the author and her late father, Bill Northover.
