Publisher's Synopsis
The trilogy tells of a small nation that persevered in the distant past to first conquer a country and finally, the world. The first part, "Phantoms Sprays," is based on the Bible. The emergence of Judaism is central. The story begins with the young Abraham and his family clan whose trek begins in Palestine and how that country is the "Promised Land." It is essentially what gradually becomes visible as the contours of the Jewish soul. Without understanding how this tough Jewish soul has emerged, one can see the fascinating wanderings and achievements of the Jewish community not understood anywhere in the world. Luis Ruiz Hoyo was born in 1955 in Seville and came with his parents to Belgian Limburg where his father worked in the coal mine. He also worked as an underground miner until the closure of the mines in Kempen. Through his miners statute he could - after having done all sorts of other work - get a retirement pension at a relatively young age. Then he began to write (six books of) poetry. He also wrote a novel, several short stories and several children's books. The topic for this trilogy urged itself unto him.
