"The New Burning Times" is a sociopolitical reaction to the witch trials. Not those of the past, but those rearing their moralistic head currently, as we end the 2010s and enter a new decade. Through propaganda, those in power are steadily lying to the population and trying to convince them that this time, witches are real; and they must- as always- be persecuted. These same groups seek to make money and eliminate their independent adversaries through deplatforming, while using family friendly sounding slogans to shield their own corruption. They pretend their defamation is a legitimate activity of the press, mocking opponents as "fanatics."With more than a few logical fallacies and the will of well meaning but brainwashed masses on their side, and with most of the population unwilling to intervene, the authoritarians of our age- Silicon Valley, lobbies, banks, and political factions- seek to project their own malevolent, totalitarian designs on vloggers, indie musicians, and small websites, because there are no witches left to blame for the problems that they themselves actually caused.Hold up the light of truth and the ghost of extremism turns out to most often be nothing but a wisp of curtain.
