Publisher's Synopsis
After anticipating its release for such a long time, Irishman finally dropped on Netflix and it's safe to say that it was worth the wait. While admittedly, it lacked enough classic action and hand-to-hand combat that you would have expected from a thriller, the Irishman was as good as advertised.
And why wouldn't it? Martin Scorsese knows how to mix a plot well. His performance with the Wolf of wall street was top-notch, especially the happy ending where Jordan Belfast got to live his dream of grooming young brokers (this is a joke - all that man wanted was to sniff coke and retire on a yacht in Ibiza, but earning huge bucks for speaking to wannabe Jordan's was a lot better than prison). So, did Irishman live up to its hype? Absolutely. Without a split doubt. Robert De Niro as Frank Sheeran could not have been any more perfect. Also, the mystery that surrounded the Peggy character was refreshing to watch. She didn't talk much but she saw everything. She was like an 18th-century three-eyed raven. Irishman was a journey of betrayal, sin, and redemption from the sage eyes of Frank Sheeran and it was fantastic.
