Kuwagata Keisai and Kitao Masayoshi was artist names of the Japanese artist Akabane Sanjirô 1764-1824.
He produced many instructional manuals on how to paint in 'abbreviated style' (ryakuga-shiki) and Methods of Cursive Drawing of Landscapes produced in 1800 is said to have influenced the great master Hokusai.
As Ukiyo-e artist, one of his he specialties was landscape depictions in so-called Uki-e style using Western perspective.
This volume is intended for students who want to copy his designs and color them for their own enjoyment and development.
