Publisher's Synopsis
An explosion outside a community dance sends Mattie Cobb and Cole Walker into the night, where they discover a burning van and the body of Nate Fletcher who was shot to death and set on fire. The investigation brings up a strong suspect, but before they can make an arrest they receive an emergency call from a man who's been shot in the mountains. They rush to the scene to be confronted by the ominous growl of a wild predator, leading them on a journey into the cold, misty mountains to track the animal. When there, they discover something far more deadly than they could have imagined.
