Publisher's Synopsis

The poems in this volume have been written over a period of 10 years. They give impressions of thoughts, observations, reflections on events and feelings - the metaphors of daily life. "I wanted to give an idea," says the author, "on how everything is interconnected; how even the smallest observation is a link in a larger chain. I wanted to give something personal, something intimate, with which people can identify feelings such as anger, pain, sadness, happiness, desire-everything that fills a lifetime." Anthonie Holslag was born in Amsterdam. He studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam and completed this study with honors. His hobbies are reading and traveling. He has a great passion for music. Poetry, for him, is "music" in words where imagery and sounds come together. He now works as a teacher.
