Abby and Daniel were in love, or so Abby thought. Right up until the minute Daniel walked out the door for deployment to Afghanistan. And right before Abby had the chance to tell him she was pregnant. Now five years later, Abby is in town with her son, about to start a new job and a new life when she's involved in a serious car accident. The attending physician on duty is Daniel. She drops a bombshell with the news the boy is Daniel's son. From that moment on, Daniel has no idea how to interact with the child, let alone one he never knew about.
