Publisher's Synopsis

Griffin is a young scientist who through long experiments has finally discovered the secret of invisibility. Holed up in a small English town, he initially feels great joy at his newfound freedoms and abilities. He recruits a tramp named Marvel to act as his assistant in his experiments and track down his notebooks where he listed his formulas. However after a burglary, Marvel betrays him to the police. As Griffin travels across England, attempting to seek revenge on those who betrayed him, his euphoria at his powers turns to despair when he realises what he has sacrificed.
