The Jolan: Flight from Tyranny is a factual presentation of a Hungarian family fleeing the tyranny of Communist Russia during the revolution of 1956. The story was presented to Richard Baran, author by Jola´n Marko (Yolanda Martin).
At the time of her flight, she was Jola´n Marko, age eleven. These events happened to Yolanda and her family starting in 1956. The family members include her father, Bela Marko, mother Piroska, brother La´szlo, members of the Nagy family (her mother's relatives) and other Marko family members.
