Publisher's Synopsis
Cal Calisto is the most successful tour guide for See Santa Fe, a boutique tour guide provider in the quaint and charming city of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is always in demand, but he and his sister, Salina, have to deal with the end stages of their mother's terminal illness. Cal finds comfort with his Uncle Bernardo, a successful local Hispanic folk artist, and with his boss and friend, Priscilla, who is both strict and forgiving. Crown Prince Harold of Lichtenberg is staying in a resort just outside of Santa Fe and engages Cal as a personal guide through See Santa Fe for the duration of his stay. The Prince comes from a micro-country in the heart of Europe. As Crown Prince, he is engaged to be married in order to produce the required heir to the throne. However, the Prince finds his arranged marriage to be more of a burden than a joy, and his father's constant demands are like a vice grip on his spirit struggling to be free. Both men are in their mid-twenties, handsome, and find themselves instantly compatible. After an afternoon of conventional sightseeing, the Prince requests Cal accompany him for a horseback ride into the backcountry the next morning. All starts well, until after their picnic lunch where the Prince consumes nearly two bottles of wine and has a difficult time completing their ride. Cal is conflicted as to whether he wishes to continue with this assignment, but this particular gig pays very well and Priscilla entices him to continue with this open-ended assignment. Soon, Cal discovers that Hal has many charming qualities that draw him deeper and deeper under his spell. Both men are strong and determined with vulnerabilities that provide openings for unexpected explorations. But just how far is each man willing to go?
